Portage & Main Outdoor Water Furnace Optimizer 200
The Portage & Main Optimizer 200 uses a process called wood gasification resulting in highly efficient combustion in the furnace's dual burn chambers. Wood in the firepot burns from the bottom up, drying the top layer of wood in the firepot. Gases and exhaust are forced into the lower burn refractory brick lined chamber where gases are burned at temperatures of 2000 degrees plus. (Varies based on the fuel type, burn rate and other conditions). Maximum heat extraction is achieved as the gases pass through one vertical pass and two horizontal reverse return passes. ( This is the most efficient design of boilers 150 years ago and is still the most efficient design today.) Optimal heat extraction save both work and cost involved with wood.

The optimal refractory brick lining in both burn chambers results in high burn chamber temperatures for consistent proper gas combustion. The high temperature gas combustion significantly reduces emissions, prevents creosote build-up and minimizes ash build-up in in the unit. The exhaust air passes through the burn chamber then escapes through multiple flues running through the water jacket,heating the water quickly and efficiently. The Optimizer 200 incorporates the existing features of the conventional Portage & Main Wood Unit--longevity, reliability, and efficiency and adds great features to the Optimizer 200 Gasifier.

Portage & Main Optimizer 200 Features Include:

• Large pre cast heat treated refractory brick target reaction area to withstand the extreme heat of the gasification process.
• Re-action chamber has a large and extensive amount of heavy duty pre cast heat treated refractory brick target area incorporated into the refractory brick base. Built to last.
• Refractory brick combustion nozel vs steel plate.
• All extreme heat areas are pre cast heat treated refractory brick lined or water cooled.
• Anti-bridging design.
• Water cooled lower combustion reaction area allows for maximum heat transfer into the water jacket. This is where the extreme heat is extracted. (See Video)
• Water completely surrounds the firepot.
• Digital controls accurate to within one degree. Controls can be easily mounted in the home/building.
• Rounded firepot top with air injected from top for even turbo burn.
• Heavy duty removable grates made of 3/8" plate metal with 1" rods.
• Combustion chamber is pre cast heat treated refractory brick lined 15" wide x 40" length and 2" deep (not small light brick)
• Pre-cast heat treated refractory brick retains heat for ensured gasification upon restart. Keeping heat in during the off cycle enables fast start of secondary burn.
• The pre-cast heat treated refractory brick has air injection ports on both sides of the firepot for super hot turbo burn.
• Strong quality fan motor introduces air into air distribution box.
• Easy access door with safety latch.
• Commercial quality boiler grade long lasting gasket maintains a positive seal.
• Easy accessible doors make cleaning of fire tubes and ash removal easy.
• Two hinged doors with lockable paddle type latch provides easy convenient assess to large pump install area. Also houses combustion blower and digital controls to prevent weather damage.
• Very well insulated using R20 quality insulation which will not break down, crack, seperate, burn or cause rust on the outside of the water jacket.
• 10 year limited water jacket and burn pot warranty
